Summary Biography
Mr. Otmar is a Director of Bank of America Merrill Lynch Real Estate Principal Investments Europe, Middle East and Africa (“REPI”). He is responsible for origination and execution of transactions in Ireland, Turkey and the United Kingdom. Since joining Merrill Lynch in 2006, he has been responsible for structuring, raising and managing the Bosphorus Real Estate Fund I which has made investments in excess of €500 million. Mr. Otmar has over ten years of European real estate private equity and investment banking experience. Prior to joining REPI, Mr. Otmar was a Vice President at Citigroup, where he was responsible for the execution of European real estate transactions with a volume of over €10 billion.

Mr. Otmar was involved in: Deutsche Annington’s acquisition of Viterra AG for €7.0 billion; Citigroup Property Investors’ minority investment of €250 million in Deutsche Annington; Citigroup’s acquisition of an NPL portfolio with a face value of €400 million from Hypo Real Estate Bank AG; Enel Group’s sale/leaseback of an office and warehouse property portfolio for €1.4 billion; Fortress Investment Group’s acquisition of a loan exposure of WCM AG; the take-private of the Rinascente Group by Eurofind S.A.; and Assicurazioni Generali’s spin-off of its commercial and residential real estate portfolio worth €5.2 billion into Generali Properties. Mr. Otmar received a BA in Economics with Honours from the University of Chicago in 1999. Mr. Otmar is a UK and Turkish citizen and speaks Turkish, English and German.
